We interviewed Kiss and Styles about their weeks

Last Friday, I go on Instagram and I see this:

Kiss found a nest of baby robins under his deck, it went wildly viral with over 1M views in a day. My first thought was, how did they manage to find the one wildlife professional wearing KITH? Then I remembered that I have this newsletter where I can ask questions like that. So Eric and I hit up Kiss for a three-minute interview.

ERIC: First off, how insane was Knicks Game 1 last night? How were you feeling when the fourth quarter started?

JADAKISS: It was incredible. It was quiet but no one was leaving. Best game I’ve ever seen, you had to listen with your eyes. Brunson, dog. He’s unstoppable, man.

ERIC: You going on Thursday?

JADAKISS: I’m trying, man. I’m trying to go to every one. I’m trying to go Monday in Cleveland! This is some historical shit!

JEFF: Speaking of historical shit, tell me about these robins. How did you discover them? How did you meet the woman?

JADAKISS: That’s Artie’s homegirl. The nest is where my pull-up bar is, that’s how we discovered the nest.

JEFF: The pull-up bar’s under the deck?

JADAKISS: Yea, that’s where it came from, Pa.

JEFF: Did you automatically know it was gonna be a thing on the Internet?

JADAKISS: I really only filmed it for SP and PETA. I didn’t expect it to go crazy, though.

JEFF: Are the robins still nearby?

JADAKISS: Nah, they’re gone. The nest actually dropped! The one she relocated, it dropped so she had to put the birds somewhere else. But the dad tried to make another nest where the first one was. They tried to come back! They tried to renew the lease under my deck!

Also! On Saturday, I woke up to news that Styles was mentioned on one of Drake’s many albums that dropped, where (on the song “Plot Twist”) he said, “Twisting that R like Styles and P.” And because this newsletter allows me to ask more questions to my friends, I called/texted Styles.

JEFF: Who was the first one to hit you and what was your reaction?

STYLES: King, my graphics guy, hit me. I didn’t know what the fuck to think, to be honest. I knew it wasn’t a diss because too many people were making hooplah of it.

JEFF: Has it done anything for you?

STYLES: What do you mean?

JEFF: Have you gotten any interesting phone calls?

STYLES: I wouldn’t say that’s doing anything for me. I hate phone calls. I still don’t really know what the fuck he was talking about, though. I thought it was about my Rolex collection but then I had to humble myself that he don’t shit about my collection nor would he care 😂😂😂 I figure he’s talking about Ruff Ryders and some gangster shit but I honestly have no idea what the fuck it meant. But it’s cool 🤷🏾‍♂️😎.

I just saw someone on Twitter say that it’s about two Toronto guys (P Reign and Styles from Reps Up), so nevermind. Good to talk to Styles, though!

But this isn’t the Jadakiss and Styles newsletter, this is the 2J3BD newsletter. We watch movies, and this week was my pick and we’re not going to ignore that just because Drake and a nest of robins said so. So, let’s get into City of God!

It was my pick for a movie — and because so many people asked for it in the suggestion box, and because I think it’s a fantastic movie — I chose City of God.
