I don’t normally like to send two newsletters in a week — not only do I not need to be so present in your lives, but also, who needs more notifications than they already get?
That being said, this calls for An Emergency Newsletter: tickets to our Brooklyn show are now (officially!) halfway sold out, and I’d hate for you to miss out if you thought you had more time. It’s only been two days!
Here’s the link — as listed above, in the poster. People on our Instagram Lives have been asking “Will The LOX be there?” which makes me wonder if some of our followers understand what this show is and how it all works.
But in case anyone doesn’t, here’s a really good (really!) explainer, courtesy of Type Set Brooklyn’s writer Abe Beame, who published the first article about us just yesterday. There’s a lot of great quotes and context in there, with this being an especially crucial paragraph:
The Lox had been approached countless times with partnerships and business opportunities that turned out to be bullshit. Jadakiss was initially skeptical but, along with the other two-thirds of the Lox, was quickly won over. “At first, I thought they were just two crazy white dudes, but once I looked into them and seen that they were connected to the culture, they were cool with a lot of people we were cool with industry-wise, I knew they were the real deal. It wasn’t cappin’. We were cool ever since,” Jada says. What set the Rosenthals apart was how quickly they proved that they meant what they said. “[They] came with the cameras. They draw up the sketches and run them by us, and we all agree on when we’re gonna shoot” Jada says. “They’re very hands-on, and we’re very hands-on. We’re people that don’t bullshit each other, so the show is able to work like a well-oiled machine.”
The screenshots don’t do it justice, they look a lot better on the website, if I’m being honest.
Also, very notable that Styles lives a very Karate Man life. If you thought he was making all that up, there’s a good possibility he’s not.
Our new episode Monday — Rambo: First Blood, available on Amazon — might be the funniest episode ever (replacing Honey, in my eyes). No spoilers, but there is an argument that was so explosive and explosively funny that it went on for another hour and a half after we had stopped filming — insanity. I cannot believe this is my life. Anyway, Rambo this Monday, House Party (the Rock the Bells episode) following that, and then Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
It looks like we will have merch next week. Hoping Monday. Keep a lookout on our Shopify page. Also, there’s an email list on there. Don’t bother with that, stick with THIS email list. Again, we don’t need more notifications!
Thank you as always, see you on Dec. 22 in Brooklyn!
As always, you can find us on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, Instagram, TikTok and right here, for our weekly newsletter.
Feel free to suggest movies for us to review here! People hit us every day for us to review movies, and the only way for them not to be lost is in the Google form, linked right there.
