Last week, I did a giveaway for two VIP tickets to our April 16th show, thanks to Mayor — I got 27 write-ins to Therapist Louch, thank you for your submissions! In the end, while it came down to Capri, Detra and Yu on the wheel, the winner was: Detra! Congrats! Looking forward to seeing you and a friend!
At our Brooklyn show, we’ll be discussing the 1985 classic The Breakfast Club, and bringing out some beloved segments — some of which we’ve never done live. Also, we’ve got an opportunity for a Q&A, so bring some good questions!
Tickets are still available! Make sure to get them here while you still can!
And if that’s not convincing enough, here’s a personal message from Styles P:
Ever so often, Kiss rags on Eric and me for having graduated from Harrison, 10 minutes from where he grew up in Yonkers. “We used to whoop y’all asses!” he’d say. (He said it again today on our appearance on Hot 97’s Mornings with Mero!, seen here.)
None of us went to high school at the same time, Eric and I weren’t on our basketball teams and by the time I was a freshman — a decade after my LOX co-hosts — Gorton was in a different division, playing larger schools. I’d never even heard of Gorton, why is this dude yelling at me about it?!
Anyway, I looked it up and Kiss wasn’t exaggerating: in 1993, Gorton whooped Harrison’s ass, in part because of the lethal three-point shooting of Jason Phillips, better known as Jadakiss.

Embarrassing for me, embarrassing for Harrison. Shouts to Jada on his big win, I was 8-years-old and probably throwing a tennis ball against a wall in my driveway.
Last year, we were in LA with Kiss and he started shooting buckets. Standing behind the 3-point line: made it. “Harrison,” he’d yell at us. Another one. “Harrison!” his voice rising. “HARRISON.” Over and over. There were a lot of bricks, but he must’ve made like 15 in a row. Insane.
It’s a real problem that Kiss — at 50 — could probably still put a hurting on Harrison.
This past week, we reviewed Devil Wears Prada.
On YouTube, someone (russella9877) said, “Don’t lie this may have been ya’ll favorite movie to watch so far. You guys were very animated and were talking over each other because you were so excited.”
I don’t know many things in this world, but I just knew The LOX talking The Devil Wears Prada would make for a great convo. At our January pop-up at Styles’ dispensary, I told a few people about my pick. At first, everyone was sorta quiet and unsure how to respond — but as soon as I said, “Imagine asking if Sheek thinks Andy is a bop and talking about her loser boyfriend” they were 1000% on-board.
And there was so much to this episode: Johan getting triggered by Miranda and threatening to flip desks; What’s Sheek Mad About? putting vegans and crackheads on the same pedestal (which has nothing to do with Styles); Kiss singing DMX in telling Nate to let Andy go. And I think Eric’s and my questions were particularly good.
Here’s the upcoming calendar of movies:
This week: The Devil Wears Prada (Jeff) — on Disney+.
Monday: Superfly (Styles) — on Amazon Prime or Apple to rent or Hoopla for free.
April 13: Out of Sight (Eric) feat. Jae’won — on Amazon Prime or Apple to rent.
April 16: OUR LIVE SHOW: The Breakfast Club — on Amazon streaming.
April 20: Pineapple Express (Sheek) — on Netflix.
April 27: Jada’s pick TBD.
On the paid side of the newsletter, I reconnected with Freeway to talk about Unbreakable, whether or not he’d live on the moon, the upcoming Michael Jackson movie, buying weed from Blade’s Deacon and what it was like meeting The LOX and later Bobby Brown.
That’s it for this week — we’re two weeks away from the live show and gearing up for that. Buy your tickets here! As always, you can also find us on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, Instagram, TikTok and right here, for our weekly newsletter.
And, lastly, we always have our Google doc where you can submit movie suggestions.
First of all, particularly good suggestions this week. Space Jam would be fire. Life, Sandlot, Five Heartbeats. And The Godfather trilogy in three episodes is an incredible idea. Whoever suggested that should be in marketing. Maybe you are?

Jeffs pick was my fav, I might watch Erics pick this weekend. I'm going to wait for the review to see if i should watch superfly. I have a nephew named Maverick because the mom loved Top Gun so much LMFAOOOOOOOOOO so please, I'm begging this to not be a pick because he's a monster brat.
I just thanked Mayor for his generosity and told him it's greatly appreciated. What a great guy.
