Man, thank you to everyone who came through to our OVERSOLD OUT Brooklyn show last night. The enthusiasm was so real: Eric and I pulled up three hours ahead of time to set up — and the line was already down the block! We appreciate everyone who drove down from Rhode Island or up from DC, and even the ones who live two minutes away and invited us to their house afterwards. The young man who threw his sneaker up for The LOX to sign, or the last guy waiting around who had Eric and me sign his 2J3BD poster and — of course — Giselle, who was sitting front row who had Kiss sign her neck brace:
LL Cool J, in interviews, always says that his most recent project is his best one, and it’s like, sure, that’s a good way to sell your new album but it’s not gonna work on me!!!! Well, I’m not spinning when I tell you that last night was my favorite show we’ve done. By far.
I’ll go more in depth about it in next Thursday’s newsletter. We’re taking a surprise much-needed break — our first in a year? — and gonna push our schedule back one week. Sheek: I just watched (THEY WILL KILL YOU) in the movies 🍿 the other day.. I forget the black girls name that plays the lead roll.. but she plays the LUCKY chick in (DEAD POOL) if you wanted to get her info ..she’s dope.. but the movie unfortunately was FUNNY but TRASH 🗑️ should’ve went straight to TUBI. Not the cinema 🎦 (3) RICHIE THUMBS 👍🏿 👍🏿 👍🏿
Eric: I watched Cipha Sounds on Memphis Bleek’s podcast - Happy Early Birthday, Ciph!! People definitely don’t give him the credit he deserves as a cultural centerpiece (breaking Rick Ross records in New York, bringing Rihanna to Jay-Z, being 1/2 of the original hip-hop podcast Juan Epstein - and it’s nice to see him on a platform like this where he’s able to put his contributions into context.
Styles: Young Sherlock, series on amazons, 7 👍🏽. Caught Stealing, movie 6 👍🏽👍🏽

This episode is most notable for the first mention of S. Pedia (shouts to WhatCatchesMyI). Funniest was when Sheek asked if we’d ever played cops and robbers, and — after I’d said yes — said “What about crackhead and dealer?” Also, who could forget the 12 minutes of Sheek and Styles cracking on Johan, at the very end of the episode? Insane.
