In August 2024, Eric and I went down to meet a friend at Lucia Alimentari, this new-ish pizza place on Canal Street that the NYTimes said had one of the best sandwiches in NYC.
It’s a small space, wood-paneled, mid-century furniture, very classy. The sandwich is incredible and we’re pretty much the only ones there. On the walls, in this very small panel, you’ve got artwork that references Jay-Z’s “Girls Girls Girls” video. So, we’re like, okay, this is a cool place. One of the guys wearing a green Lucia hat is darting in and out, and as he’s walking by us, he says, “That’s a great LOX hat” and — once he starts talking, he doesn’t stop: he loves The LOX, The LOX were incredible on Verzuz but boy, did he love The LOX on Tiny Desk. We say that we had some responsibility in that last one, and this guy — very short, very excitable — is like, “OH SHIT. I KNOW YOU GUYS.” And now he’s talking about how much he loves the showcast and also Eric’s and my interview with Juvenile and Birdman, and he can’t believe we’re here in his establishment and also we have friends in common.
That guy is Richie, one of the owners of Lucia, a native of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, an Italian good fellow with an accent you don’t get to hear too often anymore. We quickly become friends — he’s introducing us to everyone at the shop: the regulars, his childhood buddies and…you know, we’ve talked with you all (often on IG Live) about how much we love community-building, the importance of a fabric. Lucia is just one of those places.
Over the past year and a half, Eric, Richie and I talked about doing a pop-up there, and we were so happy to finally make it happen. We recorded an episode of the showcast — revolving around Goodfellas — which is coming out on Monday. And I just want to share some of the photos our guy Nick Watkin got from the event.

Shouts to everyone who came out in the rain, shouts to everyone who bought our tees. We sold out of everything, which made us happy. One guy brought a Jadakiss video game to be signed — Styles and Sheek didn’t have any idea what it was. The guys loved the wine, coffee, pizza and left with hot oil, pasta and olives. The staff was so warm and giving, the vibes: immaculate. And while you should never yell “rat” in a restaurant, we did talk a lot about Henry Hill. Check it on Monday!
This wasn’t in the table of contents, but fuck it. Eric and I have always tried to do things that no one else is doing — and our episode at Lucia is a piece of that. We want to dream big and create partnerships that are unexpected but fitting. So I can’t wait until you see the other things we’re cooking up for future special episodes.
Here’s our updated calendar of movies:
This week: All The President’s Men (Eric) feat. Pablo Torre — free on Pluto.
Monday: Goodfellas (Live from Lucia) — on Amazon Prime or Apple to rent.
March 16: Cape Fear (Sheek) — on Amazon Prime or free on YouTube with ads.
March 23: Teen Wolf (Jadakiss) feat. Lenny S. — on Tubi, Roku or Pluto for free.
March 30: The Devil Wears Prada (Jeff) — Disney+.
On the paid side of the newsletter — for our paisons — I spoke to Max B this week!
The Wave God himself. My favorite part was probably him talking about The Notebook or saying that he goes to movie theatres for the popcorn and blowjobs, but here’s him talking about some of his favorite actresses:
I love the ladies — I think I love the older actresses. I was big on Sharon Stone, I was big on Meryl Streep. I love Glenn Close. I’m talking about, these are real actresses. Julia Roberts. These women could do some stuff.
What’s your favorite Julia Roberts movie?
(exhales) I love the Oceans series. I’m a big Oceans guy. None of my friends watch it, none of my family watches it. I tell them, “This the shit,” they’ll be like, “Nawww.” So I’m a big Oceans guy. I always thought Julia Roberts was gorgeous. She got a mouth on her, boy! (laughs like a phone on vibrate)
The Max B interview is available here. Next week, I’m releasing my interview with Jada’s right-hand man and Eric’s seat-mate on 2J3BD, Kay Rosewood! He talks about anime and his time on Honey.
So many people are sleeping on this episode, which is nuts to me. Usually at the end of episodes, Sheek sticks around and is in a good mood but you can tell he’s ready to vacuum his studio and get home. There have been two times where he’s been super vocal about how great an episode was: when Eric said “It huUUuRTt” and after All The President’s Men. He may not have enjoyed sitting through the movie, but Pablo Torre was really dropped 60 points with not a sip of Gatorade.
We talked about how tech dorks are ruining culture — from Sam Altman to Elon to Zuckerberg — in an attempt to silence dissent, and how that affects the music industry as well. And there were a lot of lighter moments too: Sheek hating on my AKA, Styles saying “no” about the power of newspapers, shutting down Pablo’s soliloquy he had at the ready. Pablo talking about self-driving cars being actually controlled by remote workers in the Philippines, which brought Kiss’ whole shit back. Sheek not knowing who Woodward or Bernstein — the two central characters of the film — were.
I personally don’t think you have to watch the movie to enjoy the episode. Do you disagree? I dunno. Put it in the comment section!
We recorded three episodes over the past two days — Goodfellas, Cape Fear and Teen Wolf, and during the Cape Fear episode…we had the first appearance by Therapist Louch. Wow. I don’t think people are ready.
I’ll say this: he expressed a level of care I wasn’t expecting to the people who wrote in, but Eric, Styles and I also don’t think he understands what a therapist is.

That’s it for this week! As always, you can find us on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, Instagram, TikTok and right here, for our weekly newsletter. Also, here’s our merch shop!
Come to our live show on April 16 in Brooklyn. Tickets will sell out, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Let go, let God, as we always say.
Here’s the suggestions people sent in this past week:
Just looking through, Anora sticks out (which I bet Styles and Sheek would hate, but Eric and I both loved). Are Sicario and Ghost Dog streaming or something? There’s been a lot of talk about those movies recently. And you can’t see it but people said The Town and Raging Bull, which I bet we’ll do at some point.
And special LOL for the girl who said, “I wasn’t feelin y’all when my man first started listenin to y’all... Often, lol... But y’all have grown on me. I’d kill to kick it with y’all and smoke and laugh! Keep it up 😋.”
And to the person from Orlando, remember to ask that question for the next Q&A episode!
