This is what democracy looks like! (Sorry to all the Player’s Club-heads and the Hardball hive.) To those of you who voted, we appreciate you! To those of you who didn’t…the choice has been made for you: on August 13th, right here in New York City, we will be talking about Lindsay Lohan, Regina George, cool moms and if they wear pink on Wednesdays in Yonkers. As many people have said in the comments, Styles’ boom is going to be something you can’t miss! Don’t wait for this to sell out, like all our shows so far have — get your tickets today.
If you want to prep for the show, Mean Girls is currently streaming on Pluto for free — no passwords, no nothing required. You never need to watch the movie to enjoy the showcast, but I’ve found live shows are 83% more fun when you know what we’re talking about.
Here’s the Mean Girls Wiki intro, if that’s the thing that’s holding you back:
Mean Girls is a 2004 American teen comedy film directed by Mark Waters, produced by Lorne Michaels, written by Tina Fey and starring Lindsay Lohan. The supporting cast includes Rachel McAdams, Fey, Tim Meadows, Amy Poehler, Ana Gasteyer, Lacey Chabert, Lizzy Caplan, Daniel Franzese, Neil Flynn, Jonathan Bennett, and Amanda Seyfried in her feature film debut. The film follows Cady Heron, a naïve teenager who transfers to an American high school after years of homeschooling in Africa, where she quickly befriends outcasts Janis Ian and Damian Leigh, with the former in particular forming a plan to exact revenge on Regina George, the queen bee of an envied clique known as the "Plastics."
This week, we’ve got 48 Hrs. — the classic Eddie Murphy/Nick Nolte comedy from 1982, which, my favorite part of the episode was Jadakiss singing “Roxanne” with all the passion but none of the correct lyrics.
Full episode here, if you missed it!
Like, share baby, subscribe — and all that!
Here’s everything coming up on the schedule! Get ahead!
Pretty Woman is on Netflix for the next 9 days! Uptown Saturday Night and Eternal Sunshine are on YouTube (for free) and Mean Girls is on Pluto (for free). The Town is on HBO and Amazon and maybe Hulu, but I don’t feel like checking to make sure. Leave a comment if anyone knows!
And that is it for this week! Just a note, if you’re coming to the live show, we will not be selling merch there (even though we should). With that, as we’re three weeks away, this is your last chance to cop if you want to wear 2J3BD gear to the event! Hit our Shopify here.
As always, you can also find us on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, Instagram, TikTok and right here, for our weekly newsletter. Tune in for our Pretty Woman episode Monday!
And until then, here’s the form to suggest movies! Not a lot of new entries but I really liked the “anything more you want to say?” section this week — the Fugitive one made me laugh. Also, I definitely always want more Yonkers Talk! I’ll keep pushing the guys to get on it and write another one.
Ready and waiting
I’m flying in for the show and I need steakhouse recommendations. For the love of god! No one on insta, YouTube or here wants to help me out. Is it a NY gatekeeping thing? Are they all that good? They can’t all be the same can they?
